Hanging around

D.I.Y. Advice, Framing News

We are often asked about the best way to hang a frame on the wall. Customers bring us broken frames and broken glass caused by a frame falling off the wall. This is not just a nuisance, and an awful way to treat a frame, but is also dangerous to adults and children in the vicinity. All Artistic Reflections frames, except the very smallest and cheapest specials, come with cord or wire securely screwed to the back of the frame using quality anchor points.

There is no quick answer to this question. It depends on the type of wall, and the size, weight, and shape of the frame.

Please ask for advice if you are not sure of what is best, and we will try to help. We always recommend two hooks for any large frame, and it is best to find wall studs if the wall is plasterboard. On solid walls, it is best to always use wall plugs, with screws or bolts. Also, try to ensure all of these fittings point upwards out of the wall. Two hooks will also make it easier to keep the frame level.
